Seawind 300C nears full certification
The Seawind Company announced this week at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2007 it has been granted approval by Transport Canada to manufacture the first five customer Seawind 300C aircraft.

Following visual flight rules certification, the Seawind is scheduled to continue with instrument flight rules certification, along with autopilot and FADEC (full authority digital engine control) approval, according to Seawind President Richard Silva.

The Seawind 300C offers a top speed of 174 knots (200 mph), a high-speed cruise of 166 knots (190 mph), and a useful load of 1,100 pounds. Its no-wind, no-reserve range is 1,460 statute miles.

Seawind says its new 300C features the widest cabin in its class, with five-place seating or an executive deluxe four-place configuration. The adjustable bucket-style seats are equipped with tempered foam.

For more information, visit the Seawind exhibit at Booths 230 and 231 in the Main Aircraft Display area.

Safety first in Warbirds area on air show days
On days the EAA Warbirds of America perform at EAA AirVenture this week (all days except Thursday), the Warbirds area is required to close certain sections of the aircraft parking area just before, during, and after the performances. With dozens of aircraft starting up and taxiing through "public access" areas (warbirds aircraft parking), it creates a huge safety concern.

For that reason, Warbirds of America will clear ALL general public active areas 15 minutes prior to engine start-up through the time all aircraft have been recovered and shut down. Thanks, everyone, for cooperating in the name of safety!
