There is still time to sign up to join the EAA
AirVenture Concert Band and perform at this year’s convention, says
organizer and conductor Elton Eisele. “We are in the late stages for
members to sign up for the group,” he said this week. The band, which
debuted last year at Theater in the Woods, currently numbers between 65
and 70 musicians, but there is room for more.
“We have full instrumentation, except we
need French Horns,” Eisele said, but all instrument players are still
welcome to register. The deadline, however, is April 1, so act today if
you wish to participate. (Register

This year’s tentative schedule will be
similar to last year: Band members will rehearse at 8 a.m. Monday and
Tuesday, at the Nature Center Pavilion, then perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday,
July 30, to open the evening program at Theater in the Woods. Musicians
will receive the sheet music before AirVenture so they can learn the
music.
