National Association of Flight Instructors - NAFI

Whether you're a newly-minted instructor, a low-time pilot, or a seasoned CFI, you'll want to mark FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR HEADQUARTERS in the Learn to Fly Discovery Center, located off of Celebration Way, as a must stop during your visit to Oshkosh AirVenture!

Created in 1967, NAFI is dedicated exclusively to raising and maintaining the professional standing of the flight instructor in the aviation community. In five decades NAFI has fulfilled that role, acting as advocate and spokesman for aviation educators throughout the country. NAFI members staff the Flight Instructor Headquarters at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh each year, offering conversation, a seat in the shade, tips on instruction, and colorful stories of airmanship. The association focuses on the needs of its members, offering information and training one cannot find elsewhere.

From sharing teaching techniques to crucial notification of changes in the security rules that affect us all, NAFI provides what you need before you need it. While members reap a wide array of benefits from their association, they all participate in the support of every flight instructor's responsibility to up the quality of expertise in general aviation around the world.

NAFI also sponsors forum presentations each day during AirVenture, on topics as diverse as Teaching the New Standards in Avionics, Mountain Flying IFR, Tax Aspects of Flight Instruction, and Flying the New York VFR Corridor. This year NAFI will also offer - for the first time - a Taildragger Master Class. You won't want to miss this exciting element of the World's Greatest Aviation Celebration!
