Aircraft Repair
Unexpected aircraft problem
while visiting AirVenture? Is something broken, need adjustment, need
filling or recharged?
Contact or visit the volunteers
of EAA Chapter 75 operating the Emergency Aircraft Repair facility,
located just south of the Hangar Café about the mid-point of runways
36-18.
- The purpose of the Emergency
Aircraft Repair facility is to assist pilots of aircraft with
problems that may be encountered while attending the convention and
to facilitate a safe return flight or ferry flight for permanent
repairs.
- These volunteers can provide
hand tools, jacks, clock, air, torch, welding equipment, drills,
brake and magneto tools, plug cleaners, battery chargers, a field
level maintenance shop, some manuals, and limited technical
assistance to aircraft owners or agents.
- Limited transportation can
often be arranged to obtain parts and services for repairs.
- All work done is by, or
under the supervision of the owner or the owner's agent. The owner
and/or his agent assume all responsibility for determining
suitability and airworthiness of attempted repairs.
- Call 920-230-7795 or stop in
for help. The normal hours or operation are 8 to 5.
- For safety purposes, you
will need a wing walker when taxing to the Emergency Aircraft Repair
roped-off area, so please call us and we will arrange for a wing
walker to assist you.
