is pleased to announce that the light-sport aircraft showcase, EAA's LSA Mall,
will return to AirVenture this summer in an all-new location north of the
control tower. Convention attendees can visit the area and see dozens of
exciting light-sport aircraft that are available today, ready to fly, as a
result of the FAA Sport Pilot Initiative. The LSA Mall is also an
informational/educational center, with a team of EAA sport pilot experts and
company representatives ready to provide guidance and answers to questions
about this lower-cost avenue to flight.
"This has been an extremely popular
destination for AirVenture attendees since it was first introduced three years
ago," said Ron Wagner, EAA's field relations manager and LSA Mall
coordinator. "EAA takes pride in exhibiting these aircraft as part of our
continued efforts to support the sport pilot movement."
Now located next to the Affordable Flight Center
(the former NASA building), the LSA Mall will highlight several of the popular
special light-sport aircraft (S-LSA) models. Next door at the AFC, several
other types of sport pilot-eligible aircraft will be displayed, along with
other examples of low-cost flying.
