Visit
the new brick installation celebration Wednesday morning at Compass
Hill.
Continuing
the tradition that commenced last year, EAA’s Donor Relations
Department will host an "Installation of New Bricks
Celebration" at Compass Hill on the morning of Wednesday, July
30, beginning at 8:30 a.m. People who have placed bricks, as well as
others who are captivated by this striking symbol of EAA’s values,
are invited to attend.
Located
adjacent to the Memorial Wall and Fergus Chapel, Compass Hill
celebrates the qualities of innovation, excellence, and freedom that
accompany personal flight. At its summit, Compass Hill incorporates
a grand compass rose and features Larry Anderson’s beautiful
"Directions" bronze sculpture depicting a family enjoying
an aviation outing.
This
year’s new bricks at the summit level were placed by Harriet
Buxton, Gary Cotner, LaNette Davis, John Graham, Ron Lohr, Dan
Majka, Christopher Nelsen, John Pereira, Brian Rohr, Michele Schott,
and Carl and Pat Tortorige. Placing new bricks at the plaza level
were Helen Clark, Mike Hance, Cindi Odom, Art Sereque Jr., and Eric
and Debey Von.
