Ford
Motor Company’s incredible lineup of activities and features span the
week—and the grounds—at AirVenture Oshkosh this year. Check out at
the Ford Hangar, located just off AeroShell Square.
Ford welcomes Foreigner
To get AirVenture rockin’ Ford is featuring the legendary band
Foreigner on AeroShell Square today starting at 5:30 p.m. Hear the band
play hits like "Feels Like the First Time" and "Cold as
Ice" during the free of charge performance, and it will be the
perfect capper of the opening day. The stage will start rockin’ right
after the air show.
F-150 Adventure
Get an up-close look at Ford’s new 2009 F-150 pick-up. Ride over
hills, through water, and across rough terrain with professional drivers
at the display on the corner of Knapp Street Road and Waukau Avenue,
Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to
3 p.m.
Features in action during
the course ride include the
Reverse Camera System,
Advance Trac with RSC, SYNC and SIRIUS Travel Link. The F-150 Adventure
is open to all attendees over the age of 16.
One-mile rides
This year is the 100th Anniversary of the Ford Model T, and Ford is
offering one-mile rides around the convention grounds on Thursday, July
31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Take a load off your feet and relax with a
free ride, beginning at Pioneer Airport.
Ford challenges you to
win
AirVenture guests have the opportunity to compete in the Holeshot
Challenge, Quicklane Challenge, and Custom Accessories Instant Win Game
at the Ford Hangar throughout the week. Holeshot Challenge is a
software-driven game where contestants can put the pedal to the metal
while drag racing against other contestants. The Quicklane Challenge
tests contestants’ mechanic abilities to see who is the fastest at
replacing lug nuts, oil filters, air filters, and battery shells on
their vehicle. Plus, attendees have the opportunity to win prizes in
Ford’s Custom Accessories Instant Win Game by spinning a giant wheel.
Attendees can compete against one another and walk away with a nice
prize.

Taurus the Mechanical
Bull and Hank the Robot
When walking into the Ford Hangar, you’ll see Hank, an interactive
robot that is Ford Hangar’s host during AirVenture. Hank can hear,
see, interact, and inform guests who visit the hangar of the Ford
activities taking place throughout the week. Visitors can also enjoy
free rides on "Taurus," Ford’s mechanical bull, located
inside. Taurus headlines the F-150 Round-Up with daily professional
riding shows.
New vehicles and features
Ford is displaying new 2008 and 2009 vehicles from Ford, Lincoln,
Mercury, Mazda, and Volvo designs inside the Ford Hangar, along with the
Lincoln MKT and Ford Verve concept vehicles. Also present will be the
all-new 2009
F-150
with a cutaway highlighting "Built Ford Tough" construction
and features.
See new
wheels, electronics, and other vehicle accessories at the Ford Custom
Accessories display, including new technologies SYNC, Ford Works
Solutions, and more.
More to see
See interactive display areas, Ford Racing Performance Parts, and the
Roush Performance display at the Ford Hangar. The Roush display is not
far from the Ford Hangar, located along the flightline. It features
Roush Mustangs, F-150s, and several engine displays.
While at
Ford Hangar, see the Ford Racing Performance Parts on display as well as
the Mustang Challenge for the Miller Cup racecar, the FR500S Mustang. By
visiting the Hangar, attendees can learn more about Ford products and
view plenty of vehicles.
EAA/Ford partnership PINs
EAA members have the convenience of signing up for their Ford Partner
Recognition PINs at the Ford Hangar during AirVenture. The PIN is used
to take advantage of the great partner discount on most Ford, Lincoln,
Mercury, Mazda, and Volvo vehicles. This is a special savings
opportunity for members by giving them the ability to purchase or lease
eligible vehicles at Ford Motor Company’s X-Plan pricing.
During AirVenture the
30-day membership rule is waived, allowing new members to receive a PIN
immediately. Members can get more information about the Ford Partner
Recognition Program online at www.EAA.org.
