EAA AirVenture Band Forming Again
If the third time's the charm, the EAA AirVenture Band will surely charm a lot of folks at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2009. About 100 volunteer musicians, under the direction of Elton L. Eisele, EAA 216273, will perform several selections to kick off the Wednesday evening program at Theater in the Woods on July 29.

Preparation will again be key; Performers will receive their sheet music in early June so they can learn their parts, and the tentative schedule calls for rehearsals at 8 a.m. both Tuesday and Wednesday.

EAA has made arrangements with Henri's Music in Oshkosh to have rental instruments available to band members. Henri's will drop off and pick up instruments at AirVenture for a $50 per-instrument charge. Instruments, especially larger ones, are in limited supply, so band members should contact Henri's at 800-838-1535 to reserve an instrument.

There are no auditions. Seating is determined through the application procedure. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis. More information will be sent to band members at a later date. Band sign-up is conducted online through April 1, 2009.

FUTURE AIRVENTURE DATES: 2014: July 28-Aug. 3; 2015: July 20-26; 2016: July 25-31; 2017: July 24-30
