EAA AirVenture Oshkosh RSS FeedEnvelope Expands in Electric Aircraft Flight Tests

The Yuneec International E430 electric aircraft to the air for its second phase of test flights on Saturday, June 20, at an Airfield North of Shanghai, China. The aircraft made two flights lasting about 15 minutes each performing a series of basic maneuvers to test flight controls. The aircraft reached about 300m (975 ft) AGL during the flights.

According to Yuneec International, after an 8-meter full-power take off roll, the E430 took off at 65 kmh (40 mph), climbed out at 7meters/second and reached a speed of 150 kmh (93 mph) in level flight. Test pilot, Sun Xun was pleased with the aircraft’s handling and felt the most surprising feature is how quiet and smooth the airplane is, even at full power during a low pass.

The E430 is being shipped to the United States for more test flying and experimental exhibition certification, then it’s off to Oshkosh to show the E430 to the aviation world at EAA AirVenture.
