July 25, 2009 - Oshkosh, Wisconsin -
Thirty-seven Mooney aircraft landed today for the group's 12th annual mass
arrival at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.
The group arrived at Wittman Regional
Airport about 4:15 p.m. after being delayed slightly by an airliner in
Madison's Dane County Regional Airport. As with the other mass arrivals
today, the winds also presented a challenge.
The aircraft include everything from the
M20B model to the Ovation 3. In addition, one of the aircraft, a M20J, is
powered by the new Lycoming 210-hp IO-390 engine and will be on display at
the Lycoming booth. That engine is under development, and the M20J is
operating under an experimental certificate.
