Maverick Sport Flying Car to Fly to AirVenture Oshkosh
I-Tech's Maverick Sport flying car will soon be making a special journey; flying and driving, from its home base in Florida, to AirVenture Oshkosh. The nearly 1,300-mile trip will be the longest one the flying car has taken. I-Tech's Troy Townsend describes it as an "industrious goal." The team plans to leave on July 19th and will spend about a week both flying and driving to Oshkosh.
The Maverick Sport is the result of seven years of research and development by I-TEC (Indigenous People's Technology and Education Center), a nonprofit organization that focuses on humanitarian outreach in frontier areas of the world. The Maverick Sport is also seeking certification as a special light-sport aircraft (S-LSA) and there are plans to make the vehicle commercially available. For more information, click here.
