The appearance of these two names together happens again and again as the world leader in pilot supplies teams with the world leader in recreational aviation on projects to encourage youth to enter aviation and generally promote flying.

These two partners in aviation education are again expanding opportunities to explore aviation with the Flight Experience kit—a package created to help the prospective aviator take those first few steps on the path to becoming a certificated pilot.

“Receiving support and encouragement is a very important element needed throughout the process of becoming a pilot,” noted Tom Poberezny, EAA chairman/president.

Said Hal Shevers, Sporty’s Pilot Shop founder and chairman, “We are delighted again to team up with EAA to engage aviation enthusiasts and guide them on the path to becoming a pilot.”

The Flight Experience kit provides a certificate for a discovery flight, a six-month EAA membership, a subscription to EAA Sport Aviation magazine, a two-hour learn-to-fly video, a pilot logbook, and a cockpit poster of the Cessna 182 Skylane.

The discovery flight certificates are redeemable at any one of more than 1,000 flight schools across the country to start the prospective aviator along the training path and the experiences available only through flying.

“The Flight Experience is a great introductory step into the limitless world of aviation,” Shevers stressed, “and will fuel the passion for flight and all the fun and excitement which go with it.”

Poberezny added, “EAA and Sporty’s are committed to supplying the necessary resources that will help future pilots succeed and have fun in pursuit of their aviation dreams.”

This latest collaboration on the Flight Experience kit follows the Sporty’s and EAA collaboration to offer Sporty’s Online Pilot Training Course free to all EAA Young Eagles—a program that provides young people with an introduction to personal flight and an introductory flight flown by an EAA member in his or her own aircraft. More than 1.2 million youngsters have flown under the Young Eagles program.
