EAA AirVenture Oshkosh RSS FeedTCW announces new back-up electrical system for homebuilders

TCW Technologies this week announced its Integrated Back-up Battery System (IBBS), a self-contained system providing back-up electrical power for today’s high-tech aircraft.

TCW Technologies said its IBBS provides the homebuilt aircraft builder a pre-engineered solution to back-up power requirements in a simple, easy-to-install package.

The company said its IBBS provides, in a single enclosure, a re-chargeable battery, a smart charging system and an automatic transfer switch for conditioned back-up power supporting systems such as EFIS, GPS, Autopilots, and Electronic Ignition systems.

No other contactors, relays, diodes or other field-assembled components are required. The system provides more than an hour of back-up run time for typical EFIS or GPS systems, and additionally allows for critical systems to be fully operational before and during engine cranking.

The IBBS provides four amp-hours’ of power in a form factor weighing only 2.5 pounds, saving more than half the weight of a comparable lead-acid battery solution, according to the company.

The IBBS is available for immediate shipment via the company’s website, www.tcwtech.com, and the company’s distributors.

For more information, stop by the company’s booth, number 4095, in Hangar D.
