This year, however, they kicked things up a notch. When the convention site and airport were saturated by record rainfalls, volunteers did what needed to be done to prepare the grounds—especially in the areas of aircraft parking and Camp Scholler, but really throughout the convention grounds.

Those efforts did not go unnoticed by EAA’s Board of Directors, which during its meeting on Friday drafted and passed a resolution in their honor.

The Board resolved to express their “Deepest appreciation for the extraordinary volunteer commitment throughout this year’s AirVenture, adapting and overcoming the challenges that Mother Nature created.”
