New for EAA AirVenture 2012, attendees looking to enjoy a new level of flight experience can now do so with a "Premier Helicopter Tour" aboard a Schweizer 333 turbine helicopter.
This premium tour, offered by Aero Optics Inc., based out of East Troy, Wisconsin, will provide two passengers a with a 30-minute, private aerial tour of everything surrounding The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration.
Passengers will gain a unique perspective of not only AirVenture's main grounds, but also the hidden treasure that is the Seaplane Base, nestled in a cove along the shores of Lake Winnebago. Topping the premium experience off is a high-quality color photo of passengers in front of the helicopter.
Reservations are now being accepted online. Cost is $740 for two passengers (no single passenger reservations accepted).
Flights will be based on the Pioneer Airport grass runway and will run 9 a.m. through 3:20 p.m. daily. Passengers are asked to check in at the EAA AirVenture Museum 30 minutes prior to their scheduled flight time.
As always, flights in the popular Bell 47 helicopter again will be based at Pioneer Airport and be available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Flights in this M*A*S*H-style helicopter will take passengers in a loop high above and around the AirVenture grounds. Cost is $49 per person with only walk-up reservations being accepted.
