Mom and dad don't get to have all the fun at EAA AirVenture 2012. There are plenty of activities and special events just for teens. Check out these great afterhours activities geared toward young people. All of the events below are included with AirVenture admission:
Bonfires: Camping and bonfires go hand-in-hand. Make your way over to the volleyball pits near the corner of Stits and Schaick roads for a fun, social evening around a crackling bonfire. Bonfires will be held on the following nights from 8:30 -11 p.m.: Monday, July 23; Tuesday, July 24; Wednesday, July 25; and Friday, July 27.
Pizza Party: Start the week off with some pizza! Be at the Partner Resource Center on Monday, July 23, at 9:30 p.m. for some delicious pizza and fun times with other teens sharing your interest in aviation. Those planning to attend are encouraged to RSVP to Emilie Lyons at firstname.lastname@example.org by Sunday, July 22.
Teen Thursday at Theater in the Woods: Head on over to Theater in the Woods on Thursday, July 26, for a night fill with activities just for teens. Kicking the evening off at 6:30 p.m. is the highly popular ComedySportz improv troupe. Based out of Milwaukee, ComedySportz is the longest running, all-ages comedy show in Wisconsin and promises to bring the funny in this interactive show. Immediately following at 8 p.m. is "Meet and Greet to the Beat," where teens can dance to music and connect with others sharing their interest in aviation.
College Mixer: Love aviation? Starting to plan for college? Be sure to attend the College Mixer, which will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday, July 27, at the Partner Resource Center. Young people ages 14-18 are invited to this open house featuring many reputable colleges and universities to learn more about their aviation programs and what they can offer you and your future career. This event is free; however, registration is required.
