EAA AirVenture Oshkosh RSS Feed Witness 'Field of Yellow' as AirVenture Celebrates Cub's 75th Anniversary
Cub's 75th anniversary
Cubs begin to gather in Hartford, Wisconsin.

Hundreds of Piper Cubs will turn the AirVenture flightline into a "field of yellow" this week.

Cub owners will arrive from all over this week to participate. Mosey on down to the Vintage parking area where a special aircraft parking section has been set up along the flightline.

A mass gathering was organized by Cubs 2 Oshkosh at Hartford Municipal Airport (HXF), just 60 miles southwest of Oshkosh, and 75 of them were scheduled to arrive in trail early this morning in a group arrival, with more coming throughout the morning.

"When talking about iconic aircraft that pioneered the GA movement, you need to look no further than the distinctive Piper Cub," said Rod Hightower, EAA President/CEO. "Like many other aircraft types, Cub owners are a community-oriented group that is synonymous with EAA's culture."
