May 6, 2013 - The EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2013 Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) is now available for download.
The NOTAM, which is in effect from 6 a.m. Friday, July 26, through noon on Monday, August 5, outlines procedures for all aircraft that fly to Oshkosh for the event, as well as the aircraft that land and depart at nearby airports.
It was designed by the FAA in partnership with EAA to assist pilots in their flight planning and is required reading if you're flying your aircraft to AirVenture.
While the overall procedure is similar to past years, all but three of the 32 pages in the 2013 NOTAM have changes. Some of the noteworthy differences compared to the 2012 version include:
Sequence of VFR arrival pages
- Taxiways at Appleton (ATW)
- IFR arrival and departure routings
- FISKE intersection moved in 02 MAY 13 database
- On-site FSS services are not expected at AirVenture. Alternative on-site briefing options may be available.
Pilots are required to adhere to all published OSH arrival and departure procedures and to all ATC instructions. The EAA AirVenture Oshkosh NOTAM does not supersede restrictions pertaining to the use of airspace contained in FDC NOTAMs. Please check current NOTAMs by calling Flight Service at 800-WX-BRIEF.
Printing of hard-copy NOTAM booklets has been slightly delayed this year. Stay tuned for a separate notice about when these booklets can be ordered.
AirVenture NOTAM Chairman Fred Stadler will present a free webinar about the AirVenture NOTAM procedures on June 11. Register today
