Why We Need It
If you've attended EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, you were probably struck by the orderliness and cleanliness of the grounds. This consistent feedback received from visitors to the event is a credit to EAA members and our guests. These qualities are the result of the EAA community's culture. The same aircraft artisans and craftsmen and pilots who take pride in the precision of their efforts also take pride in the appearance and presentation of their convention site.
However, despite the positive impressions of the AirVenture site, signs that the event is outgrowing the current configuration of the grounds, the site's infrastructure support, and available amenities are becoming apparent. The planned upgrades will aim at better aligning the site's offerings with current and future expectations for this world-class convention.
Today, features such as bathrooms, showers, shade, air conditioning, pedestrian walkways, and even Wi-fi are not viewed as conveniences or luxuries — they are fundamental expectations.
In a world of increasing competition for sponsors, exhibitors, and visitors to event venues, through this site plan EAA AirVenture Oshkosh will keep pace with, and exceed, the expectations of those who participate.
